As you may have noticed in my daily stories on Instagram, every morning I am drinking my green juice. Today I want to share the recipe, all the benefits and my experiences in case you are curious about it. 💚
GREEN JUICE & HOW TO CONSUME IT
The main ingredient of my green juice is celery. Drinking celery juice has become one of the hottest trends for health and healing. It is loaded with many vitamins, minerals and antioxidants which have amazing health benefits – it improves your immunity + makes your skin glow! But I will talk about all the fascinating benefits below in detail.
How to consume? I drink one glass celery juice first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I would recommend waiting at least 30 minutes before having breakfast or drinking anything else.

- Celery juice is a great source of important antioxidants.
Celery contains a flavonoid called apigenin, which has been shown to kill cancer cells. The polyacetylenes in celery interestingly contain chemo-protective compounds that help to reduce toxicity while boosting immunity and help slow the growth of mutated cells.
- Celery juice is a vitamin cocktail for beautiful skin, hair and nails.
The luteolin in celery protects skin from the inside and prevents UV-induced damage. Celery also possesses skin healing properties; it helps clear up skin conditions like psoriasis and acne. It hydrates the skin, makes it glow healthier from the inside + it has an anti-aging effect.
- Celery juice possesses anti-inflammatory properties.
Chronic inflammation has been linked to many illnesses, including arthritis and osteoporosis. Celery can help to reduce inflammation.
- Celery juice supports digestion.
Celery juice heals and activates the gut by restoring hydrochloric acid which helps to digest food faster and more efficiently. It raises stomach acid, which is necessary to help break down food, especially protein.
- It is rich in vitamins and minerals with a low glycemic index.
Celery juice contains fiber, potassium, vitamins C, A, K, folate and over a dozen other antioxidants. It’s low on the glycemic index, meaning it has a slow, steady effect on your blood sugar.
- It has an alkalizing effect.
Celery juice maintains acid-base balance in your body.
- Celery juice lowers cholesterol.
Celery contains a compound called 3-n-butylphthalide that has been reported to have lipid-lowering action, reducing the bad cholesterol (LDL) in our bloodstream.
- It lowers blood pressure.
Research shows that celery helps lower high blood pressure by acting as a smooth muscle relaxant, improving the flow of calcium and potassium in cells, allowing blood vessels to expand and contract with greater ease.
- Celery juice aids the liver.
It improves liver function by increasing the production of enzymes. Studies show that celery helps reduce fat build-up in the liver. The nutrients in celery protect the liver, and actually, help the liver produce enzymes that help flush fat and toxins out.
- It kick starts your brain.
Celery juice enhances memory by slowing down neuronal death. The antioxidants and mineral ions protect your brain cells from chemical and pathogenic stress. It might be also a good choice for managing Alzheimer’s disease, memory loss (dementia) and neurodegenerative disorders.
Ingredients (1 serving):
• 1 bunch of fresh celery stalks
• 1 lemon
• 1 cucumber (or 2 mini cucumbers)
You can do the green juice also with only celery stalks. I like to add lemon and cucumber, tastes way better.💚
You’ll need a juicer. Wash the ingredients gently and feed them through your juicer. Serve the juice immediately and keep any leftovers in a tightly sealed jar in the fridge. Feel free to double the amount to have enough celery juice also for the next day.
If you don’t have a juicer, you can prepare it with a blender as well!
Just chop the ingredients and put everything into the blender. Add some water and blend until smooth. Pour the blended mixture through a nut milk bag. Use your hands to squeeze the juice through the bag. That’s it!
EFFECTS ON ME PERSONALLY
• My skin feels more hydrated, looks much better overall (less pimples) and has got a healthy glow.
• My digestion seems to have improved. I feel less bloated and my stomach feels flatter.
• I’m having less sugar cravings.
• I like the fresh taste, it makes me feel nourished, hydrated and overall healthier.
• I feel like I have more energy when I drink my green juice in the morning.
